Pussycat Doll danced out of depression

posted on Jan 05, 2011

Kimberly Wyatt escaped from a childhood of abuse through dancing.

The former Pussycat Dolls singer who was molested as a youngster and survived a rape attempt thinks the experiences she suffered have made her a "strong, independent woman".

She said: "I see the positive in what happened it's made me a strong, independent woman. That's why I'm so grateful to dance. It let me express myself as a kid and was a release from all the bad things."

Kimberly, 28, also admitted the problems she experienced as a child made her more driven to change her life for the better.

She admitted in an interview with Now magazine: "It gave me a lot of drive to change my life to get out and explore the world and work hard so I could use my talent to see where it would take me. I'm very thankful for everything I've experienced because it's got me to where I am and it's created the driven personality I have.

"You make the choice to either let the cycle repeat itself and beat you down for the rest of your life or to effect change and make things happen for you." - Bang Showbiz

Ex-Pussycat Doll goes her own way

posted on Dec 29, 2010

Kimberly Wyatt wants her new musical project to be a "postmodern pop fairytale".

The former Pussycat Dolls star is now a member of pop duo Her Majesty And The Wolves with producer Spencer Nezey, and has revealed she has very specific and ambitious ideas about what their sound and live shows should be like.

She said: "I don't want to give too much of it up, but I have ideas for costumes, I'm meeting with costumes designers. I want to make a new world, I want to create an experience which is very theatrical. It will be a postmodern fairytale of pop. We are the lead characters in the fairytale, it's along the lines of Tim Burton's 'A Nightmare Before Christmas'."

Although Her Majesty And The Wolves are comprised of Kimberly and Spencer, the 28-year-old blonde – who quit the Pussycat Dolls in February says they will be joined by backing dancers on stage.

In an exclusive interview with BANG Showbiz, Kimberly explained: “There will be dancers at some point. It will come together organically.

"We're creating a platform for everything to come, right now I'm focused on the look of things, everything I'm telling you is what I see in my head, what it will actually be, you’ll have to wait and see."

Nicole Scherzinger proud of 'fun' Pussycat Dolls

posted on Dec 14, 2010

Nicole Scherzinger says she's "proud" of her work in the Pussycat Dolls.

The 32-year-old shot to fame as the lead singer of the R&B girl band alongside Jessica Sutta, Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts and Melody Thornton.

Rumours of jealousy within the Pussycat Dolls began circulating at the end of last year, culminating in all of Nicole's bandmates deciding to pursue solo projects.

Nicole looks back fondly at her time in the group and has no regrets about her time spent in the singing and dancing troupe. She is particularly proud of her vocal contributions to the band.

"The group had existed before as a dance group. Then they hired myself and Melody to come and record. I was really proud of my part in making the music," she explained. "We wouldn't have been able to sell tens of millions of albums if we didn't have talent."

As well as feeling proud of the Pussycat Dolls' numerous hits, the gorgeous star thinks the group's feminist ethos was also a fundamental element. She thinks the band encouraged women to be powerful, while at the same time enjoying life.

"We stood for fun, girl power," enthused Nicole.

Pussycat Dolls rows were "inevitable": Nicole Scherzinger

posted on Dec 13, 2010

Pop star Nicole Scherzinger thinks her fight with her Pussycat Dolls bandmates was "inevitable".

The original members of the group Ashley Roberts, Kimberly Wyatt, Jessica Sutta and Melody Thornton have now gone their separate ways amid rumours of tension between the women, but the Poison hitmaker insists they always handled their rows well, reported Contactmusic.

"It's inevitable that any girl group who are breathing the same airspace 24/7 are going to bicker. But I think we handled it well and were respectful towards each other," said Scherzinger.

The 32-year-old singer, who was the last member to depart the group, admitted she has no idea why so many of the girls left the band but says she respects their choices and is glad they took the opportunity to "find" themselves.

"Girl power is about finding yourself as a woman. Obviously a lot of them then wanted to branch off and do their own thing and that's wonderful."

Although the Pussycat Dolls originally started off as a lap dancing group in Los Angeles, Scherzinger thinks her talent and that of her bandmates helped fans to forget their roots.

"The group had existed before as a dance group. Then they hired myself and Melody to come and record. I was really proud of my part in making the music. We wouldn't have been able to sell tens of millions of albums if we didn't have talent. We stood for fun girl power," she said.

Nicole Scherzinger Doesn't Believe In Diets

posted on Dec 11, 2010

Nicole Scherzinger thinks diets don't work because as soon as she relaxes her strict eating plans, she can't help but overindulge.

Nicole Scherzinger swears diets don't work.

The Pussycat Dolls singer who is renowned for her stunning slender figure - has tried a number of different strict eating plans but is unable to restrain her urges to eat calorific treats once she relaxes her food rules.

She said: "I've tried every diet out there and they don't work, because eventually the diet ends and I want the foods that I restrain myself from eating.

"It's about having everything in moderation as long as you're staying active. I also try not to eat late at night, not after 7pm if I can help it."

Nicole who was born in Hawaii and also lived in the US from the age of six also said she found it difficult being a part of raunchy pop group Pussycat Dolls and wearing revealing outfits because of her strict upbringing.

She explained: "I come from a Catholic background that was very conservative, so I wasn't comfortable showing off my body and was very self conscious about myself. But I learned to deal with that.

"I was much harder on myself when I was younger and that's changed now that I've matured."

Nicole's Trolleyed at LA Airport

posted on Dec 09, 2010

NICOLE SCHERZINGER must be on a PR mission to prove she's just a regular lass.

The former PUSSYCAT DOLLS star pushed her mountain of luggage through Los Angeles airport after touching down yesterday.

There wasn't a beefcake aide in sight as she forced her slight frame to shift her stash of clothes, shoes and various other accessories.

Such a hands-on approach to baggage handling is a rare sight among today's celebrities, but Nicole's doing her best to persuade us she's not a pampered diva who pays others to undertake such nuisance tasks.

Next thing she'll be applying her own make-up, cooking dinner and treating boyfriend LEWIS HAMILTON to a large one down McDonald's.

A large meal, that is.

Nicole Scherzinger's Family Disapprove Of Stagewear

posted on Dec 08, 2010

Nicole Scherzinger's family are very supportive of her career but she admits they do not approve of her skimpy outfits.

Nicole Scherzinger's family hate her raunchy stage outfits.

The Pussycat Dolls star who grew up in a staunchly Catholic family admitted her grandfather, who is a priest, and her mother are often shocked by her provocative clothes.

She said: "I still listen to my mom and my grandfather is a priest! They weren't too excited when they saw the covers of magazines where my back was nude, and when I did the 'Hush Hush' video, my mother was like:, 'Oh my goodness, I can't believe you were at the bathtub, almost. so bare.' "

However the 'Poison' singer says that despite her family's conservative views when it comes to her stage outfits they are extremely supportive of her career and her grandfather even went to Pussycat Dolls concerts before the band went on hiatus.

She told Britain's OK! magazine: "For the most part my family have been very supportive of me. They know where my heart lies and what my faith is and that I'm still grounded.

"They go to my shows. My grandfather in his priest outfit, had pictures taken with all of the Pussycat Dolls."
