Nicole Scherzinger: Dolls reunion is cool idea

posted on Mar 15, 2011

Nicole Scherzinger thinks it would be "cool" for the Pussycat Dolls to reunite like the Spice Girls did.

The 32-year-old songstress shot to fame as the lead singer of the R&B girl band alongside Jessica Sutta, Carmit Bachar, Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts and Melody Thornton.

All the girls have been pursuing solo ventures since last year and despite rumours of a rift, Nicole insists there are no hard feelings. She even believes a comeback tour similar to that which British girl band the Spice Girls famously undertook in 2007 could be on the cards.

"It would be cool if we did a reunion like the Spice Girls but right now I know they're all happy pursuing their own careers," she mused in an interview with the British edition of OK! magazine.

Nicole has triumphed as a solo artist recently, enjoying international success with tracks such as Poison and Heartbeat - a duet with crooner Enrique Iglesias. She has heard rumours her former band mates envy her achievements, although she chooses to ignore them.

"I know it's hard because everyone wants to be at the front, it's inevitable, but everybody has their own measure of success and happiness and I think the girls are going to find that," she added.

"I'm happy for them and I would only hope that they are happy for me."

Pussycat Dolls - Nicole Scherzinger Planning West End Stint?

posted on Mar 14, 2011

Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger is considering swapping pop music for a stint on the West End stage under the guidance of British theatre mogul Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The singer has confirmed she is in negotiations with the award-winning composer about some "stage work", sparking rumours she will be the next big name heading to London's famed theatre district.

Scherzinger has also revealed she has been talking to Lloyd Webber about a possible judging role in his next reality TV project.

She tells Britain's The Sun, "We've been talking about doing some work together soon, on stage and on his new TV show. I would love it.

"Andrew is a friend - he and his wife Madeleine are lovely. I'm in awe of him and inspired by him. Coming up in the musical theatre, we have a lot in common."

Lloyd Webber has previously taken his stage show talent searches to the small screen, with TV shows dedicated to finding aspiring theatre stars to play key roles in West End productions including Oliver!, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and The Wizard Of Oz. His latest TV project has yet to be announced.

Nicole Scherzinger feels "liberated" to finally be releasing her debut album.

The Don't Hold Your Breath singer has been working on her first solo project away from the Pussycat Dolls for "the past six years" - and is excited to finally have Killer Love hit the shelves.

"I love music so much and I am never ever going to stop," said Nicole-who's already thinking about her second release.

"I have this album out and I can't wait for the next, and I am just really excited about this music. I feel liberated."

Scherzinger recently revealed she wants to work with Black Eyed Peas on a new song. The Poison singer also admits she hates diets.

Strip Scribbles: Tidbits about Pussycat Dolls Burlesque, Gallery

posted on Feb 18, 2011

I'm learning more about Robin Antin's sexy new Pussycat Dolls Burlesque Salon and the new Gallery nightclub set to open this spring in tandem at Planet Hollywood. The 17,500-square-foot Gallery will fuse vintage gothic design with contemporary touches. In the Red Room, subjects in 3D photographs follow guests' every move, and in the Gold Room, a girl performs a striptease inside an oversized champagne glass. The Main Room will be the center of attention with a dance floor, two bars and an elevated DJ booth.

Go-go dancers styled in voyeuristic fashions will perform nightly, while acrobats will perform from netted platforms, dangling from the nightclub's ceiling. Candlelit glass fireplaces will be scattered throughout the venue, creating a glow in all the rooms. The burlesque saloon will bring the Pussycat Dolls into an interactive setting, as fantasies come to life within the 4,500-square-foot venue with lingerie-clad bartenders pouring shots and climbing on the PCD Saloon bar for impromptu performances.

The new team of scantily clad Dolls will strut their stuff on rhinestones spelling out D-O-L-L-S behind the bar, and a burlesque Doll will perform inside an oversized champagne glass. Past celebrity Pussycat Dolls included Carmen Electra, Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton and Eva Longoria.

On the prowl: Olly Murs pulls Pussycat Dolls star at BRIT Awards

posted on Feb 17, 2011

The cheeky chappie allegedly landed himself Kimberly Wyatt's digits-and a sly snog-after 'having a crack' at her at an after party.

Former X Factor star Olly Murs didn't let missing out on a BRIT Award win on Tuesday ruin his night and cheered himself up by managing to land a pop stunner's phone number-and a cheeky snog to boot.

The singer, whose hits include Please Don't Let Me Go, reportedly got former Pussycat Dolls singer Kimberly Wyatt’s digits after pursuing the US star throughout the night.

The Sun reported that Essex star Olly was clearly "on the prowl", and decided to set his sights firmly on Kimberly.

"Olly thought he'd have a crack at Kimberly. His persistence paid off and he swapped numbers with her before going in for the kill and giving her a kiss," a source told the paper.

He finally managed to pull the object of his affection at Sony's Gaucho steak house bash after the awards, which were staged at the O2 Arena in London on February 15.

Olly had been up for the British Single gong at the event, going up against stiff competition including Cheryl Cole, Taio Cruz, Tinie Tempah, Matt Cardle and Florence & The Machine. Tinie Tempah lifted the award for his hit Pass Out.

Pussycat Dolls, TR Knight and Barry W. Levy attended The Trevor project benefit

posted on Feb 16, 2011

Melody Thornton of the Pussycat Dolls, TR Knight, Barry W. Levy, Paula Van Oppen and many additional celebrities and personalities attended a benefit last night at the Supperclub Los Angeles for The Trevor Project. The event was caught on film for the new reality series The Dance Scene which will air on E! in April 2011. The Trevor Project works to prevent suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth.

The Trevor Project event included a dance performance by Laurieann Gibson who is the choreographer for the E! reality television series The Dance Scene. Other celebrities in attendance at the event included Zach Callison, Jeremy Shada, Saige Ryan Campbell, Jake Busey, Jordan Monaghan and Sean Kanan.

Funds raised at the benefit will go to The Trevor Project and their crisis and prevention programs for LGBTQ youth. The Trevor Project provides life-saving resources such as a 24 hour crisis intervention hotline, advocacy programs, educational programs and a safe environment.

The Trevor Project was inspired by an HBO show named Trevor which aired in 1998. The show was about a suicidal gal teenager and show producers felt there would be viewers of the show who may have similar feelings as those expressed in the show. That inspiration was the creativity behind The Trevor Project.
