Former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger will co-host the upcoming US TV singing show 'The X Factor', Fox television said, but there was no official word on whether former 'American Idol' judge Paula Abdul had signed up as the final panelist.
Scherzinger, pictured, will host the contest with British TV presenter Steve Jones, Fox said in a statement.
But the statement omitted any mention of Abdul, who quit 'Idol' two years ago in a contract dispute. However, a source said she was reported to be in final talks to join her old 'American Idol' sparring partner Simon Cowell, British singer Cheryl Cole and record producer Antonio 'LA' Reid on 'The X Factor' judging panel.
The show, created by English music mogul Cowell, is due to air on Fox later this year, offering a $5 million prize and a recording contract for the winner.
The celebrity line-up gives 'X Factor' a strong British flavour, and introduces new faces to primetime US TV. Cowell became a household name in the US in his 10 years on 'American Idol', however Cole - a member of British pop band 'Girls Aloud' - is virtually unknown in the US, despite being a star at home, where she has been a judge on the UK's 'X Factor'.
If you're like us, watching any member (current or ex) of the Pussycat Dolls scantily clad while jamming out to a catchy song is a good time. As such, we were psyched to learn that former Pussycat Doll Jessica Sutta was doing just that in LA pop-rock band Capra's new video for "If I Was."
Capra, who draw on influences ranging from classic 60's pop to modern-day acts like the Strokes and Phoenix, are fronted by Kelly Blatz, an actor who you may know from TBS' frat-tastic show "Glory Daze," as well as from his appearances on "90210." Other than Blatz, Capra keeps it in the family: brothers Jeff and Paul Laliberte clock in for guitar and bass duties.
In case you haven't been keeping tabs on Sutta, the beautiful brunette left the Pussycat Dolls last year and is now working on her first solo album.
Check out Capra's (potentially NSFW) video for "If I Was" below. You’ll be glad you did.
Pussycat Dolls were an ensemble of sexy ladies who could sing and dance. Robin Antin is the creator of that brand and she's keeping it alive as she is set to release a second workout video under the Pussycat Dolls name.
Robin has kept all her followers in the loop as she seems to tweet each and every step of the way. The updates started when Robin tweeted, "Off to vegas for the AMAZING @mattgoss show, then back to LA to begin rehearsals for @pussycatdolls Fitness DVD #2!! Can't wait! ♥"
The progress on the project seemed quick because within days Robin tweeted "PCD Fitness DVD #2 1/2 way done! Me & all my girls r dancing our pcd booties off, & feeling the burn!!!!"
No pain no gain seems to be Robin's motto as she tweets "Ahhh BED at last! My body is aching so good after an amazing day shooting my PCD fitness DVD #2!! Ur all gonna love it! Can't wait! Nite! X."
Truly keeping herself busy, Robin tweeted "Having a small audition today for PCD, meeting a few very talented girls! Excited! Not long till the unveiling of THE NEW PCD!♥ @MIKEYMINDEN" today!"
With so much coming from Robin and Pussycat Dolls, are you looking forward to the new ensemble?
Nicole Scherzinger has revealed she no longer speaks to any of the other former Pussycat Dolls.
The singer, who is rumoured to have been offered a job as a presenter on the US X-Factor, said that after Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts, Melody Thornton and Jessica Sutt decided to go solo, she did the same.
'A few of the girls left the group and I was like, 'Am I the only Doll standing here?'' she told Attitude. 'We're not in touch.'
But she insisted there are no hard feelings.
'We're all busy and I'm happy for everyone. Once all the girls went off, I thought it was the perfect opportunity for me to go and do my music and what I love.'
Nicole Scherzinger says she spotted Lady Gaga's great potential on an early tour with Pussycat Dolls.
Nicole said: "We were on one of her very first tours. I'm a huge fan - I love her style and her vibe and her energy.
"I could tell that she was an artist, even when she didn't have a big production or the money.
"When she was just lying on the floor with a handmade fairy cane stick or whatever and light-up glasses, I thought, 'she is a monster in the most wonderful, beautiful way'."
Hundreds of singers and dancers tried to join the ranks of Carmen Electra, Pink, Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears, and Nicole Scherzinger to become a Pussycat Doll and only RumorFix was allowed at the auditions recently.

Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antin has a unique way of picking her dolls. "Robin is the mastermind of all of this and it's all in her head, there's no formula to the auditions. If they like you, they'll call you," says Michele DiNardo, publicist for the auditions.
An insider tells us that the performers went through an American Idol-like elimination,"Girls danced twice in groups of four. If your name was called, you stayed. The 200 auditioned in person, only around 10 were picked as dancers. And only 4 of the 200 girls were picked as singers. But no one was told anything at the actual audition."
Robin Antin is on the hunt for a few good Pussycat Dolls!
The PCD creator held auditions for an all-new version of the sexy recording group yesterday in L.A. -- and tons of scantily-clad women showed up to try out!
"When I'm creating the next group, it's really finding that sexiness," Antin tells TooFab about her search. "It's about the whole package. Obviously I'll look for a triple threat. I want girls who are incredibly talented, incredible singers, incredible dancers ... Beautiful girls on the inside and out."
Robin adds, "You gotta be able to love it. I need committment. It's like boot camp."
Antin must have been pleased with the turnout -- this morning she tweeted "PCD Auditions were AMAZING yesterday! Thank u to all the SEXY girls who came out & danced so hard & sang for us!"
As we previously reported, the search for the new group will be part of a reality show Antin is developing with Kim Kardashian as a producer.
She might have left the Pussycat Dolls in January last year - but Jessica Sutta showed yesterday that she'll always be one at heart.
The 28-year-old was taking time out from recording her debut album with a day on Miami Beach yesterday - wearing tiny shorts with the word 'doll' written on them.
However, the former model star soon stripped those off to reveal the curves that made her famous in the girl group, wearing a mismatched bikini with white top and red and white polka dot bottoms.
Talking at the end of last year as she revealed details of her forthcoming solo album, Jessica had mused: 'Everything about the Pussycat Dolls has made me who I am today and I'm so grateful for that project.
'I'll always be a Doll in my heart.' And on her bottom, by the looks of it...
The star was in the area to perform last night in downtown Miami - her hometown - a the Ultra festival with dance maestro Erick Morillo and sing on their collaboration Pin-Up Girl.
She wrote on her official Twitter beforehand: 'Huge stage! Great soundcheck :) gonna go chill on the beach then get ready for the show. Super excited!!!! Omg i cannot wait to perform tonight with @ErickMorillo :)!!!!!'
And the gig seemed to go well - she wrote earlier today: 'I love miami :) Honestly had the time of my life tonight. Thank you god for this life. :) i love you ALL with all my heart. Your pinup girl..jess.'
The sold-out three day event was headlined by Tiesto, The Chemical Brothers and and Deadmau5.
Jessica will now be back to work hard on the promotional trail ahead of the release of her debut album.
Called Miamication, it's due out this summer and the first single from it is called I Wanna Be Bad.
Jessica has previously said of her new material: 'I have a love for dance music so it's going to be dance music, also inspired pop dance music.'
The beauty added that she had been trying her hand at songwriting for the first time.
She's be hoping to match the success of her former bandmate Nicole Scherzinger, who landed her first UK Number One single with Don't Hold Your Breath last week and a Number Eight album last night with Killer Love.
